Not My Addiction: Empowering Teens from Families Impacted by Addiction
Every addiction story touches more lives than one. When substance use takes hold of a parent, sibling, or loved one, the entire family feels the weight — and too often, the quietest pain is carried by the teens growing up in that environment.
Not My Addiction was founded to change that.
Our mission is to help teens who’ve grown up in families struggling with addiction find understanding, healing, and hope. We know these young people often face confusion, guilt, and isolation — feelings that can follow them long after they leave home. Through education, mentorship, and wellness programs, Not My Addiction provides a safe space where they can learn that they are not defined by their family’s addiction.
The name Not My Addiction is a declaration of independence and strength. It reminds every young person that, while addiction may have shaped their environment, it does not have to shape their future.
Our programs are designed to:
Build resilience and self-esteem through guided activities and mentorship
Offer emotional and educational support to help teens process and heal
Connect participants with peers who understand their experiences
Encourage positive choices and pathways toward healthy, independent lives
We believe that breaking the cycle of addiction starts with empowering the next generation — giving them the tools, knowledge, and confidence to write a new story.
This is just the beginning of our journey. We invite you to learn more, get involved, and help us create a world where every teen impacted by addiction knows they are seen, supported, and never alone.
